Step 1

From the clock tower cross the road towards the bank then go right along the road towards the roundabout. Cross the road over the island toward the Royal Hotel. Continue along Argyll Square crossing over two roads and keep following the main road as it curves slightly to the right. Soon you will reach a church; take the road to the left of the church. Keep following this road as it passes the golf course and then heads uphill. After you have passed the golf course and then a residential area with a field on the right, the main road swings right. Take the left turning on this corner signposted for Achavaich and follow this single track road as it heads uphill.

Step 2

The road passes next to Achnalarig stables before heading more steeply uphill. At the top of the hill take a left on a track through a kissing gate adjacent to a farm gate.

Step 3

Continue on this track until you reach the reservoir on your left. There are various paths and tracks beyond this point but they are very rough with tree felling debris and tend to peter out so our walk ends here, but it can be worth exploring if you feel adventurous! Retrace your steps all the way back to the start to complete our walk.
